All New 2019 Honda Talon, The First Sport Side by Side from Honda

If you thought Honda rocked the powersports world before, let us introduce you to the all new 2019 Honda Talon 1000R & 1000X side by sides. This is the first sport side by side ever produced by Honda! 



The Honda Talon has charged into the sport UTV industry with both the Honda Talon 1000R & 1000X models sharing a 999cc Unicam® Parallel-Twin Engine. This gnarly engine is pretty close to that of the Honda Pioneer 1000 but the Talon has had a couple drastic changes which give the rider more control and response. This engine cranks out 104-horsepower through a 6-speed dual clutch automatic trans. 


The Honda Talon 1000R & 1000X have two automatic modes as well as a full manual mode to allow you to set yourself up for the terrain you’re about to conquer. The Talon features paddle shifters that lets you quickly and easily choose which mode you want to be in and gives you true engine braking with the gear transmission. The rider can choose between 4WD and 2WD modes, as well as high/low speed subtrans that allows you to engage slow, high-torque crawling modes when crawling and tackling extreme terrain.



There are a few notable differences between the Honda Talon 1000R & the Honda Talon 1000X. At 68.4-inches wide, the 1000R is wider than the 1000X which boasts a 64-inch wide body, and 87.6-inch wheelbase. Suspension is the biggest difference between the 1000R & 1000X. The Talon 1000X has a traditional style 3-link trailing arm suspension giving the rear suspension 15-inches of travel and the front suspension 14.6-inches. The Talon 1000R, however, uses what Honda calls it’s unique  4-plus suspension on the back end. This gives the Talon 1000R 20-inches of suspension travel in the rear. The 1000X is set up for the all-around need, and the 1000R is set up more for large bump absorption and rock climbing.

The Honda Talon also comes standard with a few gems that is going to help make this sport side by side a major competitor in the sport UTV industry. Both the 1000R & 1000X side by sides sport custom Maxxis wheels and tires that help give the maximum handling to the driver. Dash buttons allow for on the fly ride adjustments and a hill start assist. The body line and doors are high to provide you with more protection and the feeling of being inside an on-road vehicle. When you’re riding long and hard over rough terrain, it’s important that you are comfortable and the Honda Talon doesn’t disappoint. Even after riding for hours over rocks and hills, the Talon seating is still comfortable and the seats come pre-manufactured with slots to easily upgrade to 4-point harness seat belts. Honda is also offering a full line-up of accessories including windshields, winches, bumpers, skid plates, light bars and more. 


Everything from the beefed-up engine to the standard Honda tool kit hidden under the passenger’s seat gives the Honda Talon a huge entrance into the sport UTV world.
